The World's Fattest Man
Ricky Naputi, also known as the world's fattest man, struggled with obesity for a long time. Unfortunately, his battle with excessive appetite ended in defeat. He passed away on November 10, 2012, after seven years of an existence that could hardly be called a fulfilling life. Throughout this period, Naputi was unable to move even a meter on his own. His wife, Cheryl, played a crucial role in supporting him during this difficult time. She compared Ricky to an incredibly oversized baby. However, Cheryl had no reason to complain. From the beginning of their relationship, she knew what she was getting into. Ricky was already quite large, and his size posed a significant threat to his health. The couple lived on the island of Guam, four hours of flight away from Brisbane.

A Life Struggle
On Guam, Ricky Naputi's struggle with obesity became the focal point of his life. Doctors repeatedly warned him that he had to lose weight or face the consequences. Unfortunately, he ultimately chose the latter. Ricky's death was far from easy. Without the help of his loyal wife, he would have been completely helpless. Ricky was unable to cook for himself or even go outside without assistance. He relied on others to wash his enormous body and use the bathroom. Towards the end of his life, he struggled to speak, often experiencing shortness of breath after just a few words. Ricky often needed oxygen, even when he was not physically exerting himself. He was fully aware of his deteriorating condition, which only deepened his depression.

Unfulfilled Dreams
Once upon a time, Ricky and Cheryl had dreams of starting a family. However, his excessive weight shattered those plans. They never formally married, and their dreams of having children were never realized. Ricky sought help wherever he could. He reached out to Angie Flores from Houston, Texas, who had successfully lost over 80 kilograms and became an advocate for self-transformation. Unfortunately, even Flores was powerless in Ricky's case. She had undergone a special operation to lose weight, which Ricky could not afford. The doctors refused to perform the surgery until Ricky lost at least 40 kilograms on his own.

A Battle of Willpower
Dr. Duc Vuong, who arrived on Guam with Flores, pronounced this verdict. He stated that overcoming those 40 kilograms was mostly a matter of willpower, something both Ricky and Cheryl lacked. Ricky simply could not control himself, and Cheryl did not have the strength to enforce a strict diet. As time went on, Ricky's chances of undergoing the operation diminished. Instead of losing weight, he continued to gain. Eventually, the doctors had to admit their powerlessness. Without the patient's cooperation, they could do nothing more. This became Ricky's breaking point. Taking "some pills," he tragically stopped breathing, leaving behind the legacy of being the world's fattest man.
