Robert Lyle Knepper, widely known as Robert Knepper, is an American actor best known for his portrayal of the cunning maniac Theodore 'T-Bag' Bagwell in the Fox series 'Prison Break.' With his charisma, Robert won the hearts of millions of viewers with his character. However, it's worth noting that even before his iconic role as Bagwell, Robert had already played a range of characters.

Early Life and Career
Robert was born in Fremont, Ohio and grew up in Miami. His interest in acting was sparked by his mother Pat, who worked in the props department of a local theater. Robert underwent several auditions while still in high school. After being accepted into Northwestern University, he specialized in dramatic arts. However, he dropped out of university in 1981, just before graduation, and moved to New York to pursue his acting career.

In the early 1980s, Robert made a name for himself on the theatrical stages of Chicago. He made his on-screen debut in 1986 in an episode of the series 'The Paper Chase,' credited as Rob Nepper. In the 80s and 90s, he often appeared under this name. In 1987, he appeared in the film 'Wild Thing' as a Tarzan-like superhero fighting urban crime. Rise to Fame
It was in the 90s that Robert really began to attract attention. He played a comedic role in the film 'Search and Destroy' and had a small role in Woody Allen's 'Everybody Says I Love You.' After these roles, he landed more prominent characters in indie film 'Under Heat' and the TV movie 'Kidnapped in Paradise,' where he played a heroin-addicted family father and a lascivious smuggler respectively. In an episode of 'The West Wing,' he portrayed a blackmailing film producer. He was then cast in the show 'La Femme Nikita,' where his villainous character became a fan favorite.
In 2001, Robert excelled in his role as the leader of a spy group in the short-lived series 'Thieves' and as Robert Kennedy in the miniseries 'Jackie, Ethel, Joan: The Women of Camelot,' which he considers one of his favorite roles. In the 2002 film 'The Pennsylvania Miners' Story,' he played one of the trapped miners.
