Early Life and Education
Rosalind Brewer was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Spelman College with a degree in chemistry and later continued her education at the Wharton School and the University of Chicago School of Business.
Career Journey
Brewer began her career as a research scientist at Kimberly-Clark, later transitioning into management. She rose through the ranks at Kimberly-Clark, leading the Global Nonwovens Sector as President and successfully revitalizing the Nonwoven Fabrics Business, increasing sales by 30%.
In 2006, Brewer joined Walmart as Regional Vice President for Georgia. She was subsequently promoted to Regional Vice President for the Southeast region and eventually became Executive Vice President and President of Walmart East, overseeing over 500,000 employees in 1,600 stores.
