Swiss guitarist living and working primarily in Basel (with the exception of his time in Santiago from 1963-1966).

Collaborations and Performances

Collaborated with Collegium Musicum chamber orchestra under Paul Sacher, performed guitar solos in productions at the Basel Opera (notably Manuel de Falla's "La vida breve"), and prepared original programs such as "James Joyce / John Cage," which was performed at the Zurich Junifestwochen festival in 1991.

Duo with Hansheinz Schneeberger

For over 25 years, performed in a duo with violinist Hansheinz Schneeberger, recording two albums (one dedicated to the works of Niccolò Paganini) and touring internationally, including a visit to the Soviet Union in 1986.

Television Master Class and Textbook

Hosted a popular television master class on guitar playing in Switzerland, "Six Strings - Ten Fingers," which later served as the basis for his eponymous textbook.

The Salvador Dalí Incident

In 1971, Salvador Dalí invited Wängler to spend the summer at his villa in Cadaqués, where he gifted Wängler with a drawing on his concert guitar in appreciation of the private concerts he had performed.
