Biography of Safura Alizadeh
Safura Alizadeh, an Azerbaijani pop singer, was born on September 20, 1992, in Baku. Her father is a professional artist, while her mother is a pianist and fashion designer. From a young age, Safura showed a passion for music, starting to sing at the age of 3 and making her first stage appearance at 6. Since then, she has consistently participated in various music competitions in Azerbaijan. She is the winner of the popular Azerbaijani television music project "Yeni Ulduz" (New Star). Safura was also a member of the children's ensembles "Sharg Ulduzlary" (Eastern Stars) by composer Vagif Gerayzade and "Byulbyullar" (Nightingales) by singer Aybeniz Gashimova.
She attended three schools, starting with a choreography school and then studying at Secondary School No. 164 from the fifth grade. In the eighth grade, she transferred to Secondary School No. 23 in Baku. Safura completed her music school education in violin, but she always dreamed of mastering the saxophone, which she eventually did. In addition to violin and saxophone, she also plays the piano.
Representing Azerbaijan at Eurovision
Safura Alizadeh represented Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with her English-language song "Drip Drop" and secured the 5th place in the final on May 29, 2010. After Eurovision and finishing school, Safura moved to Sweden, where she released her debut album. The young singer also plans to pursue higher education in Stockholm.
Interests and Inspirations
Safura Alizadeh is a fan of the "Twilight" book series and has read almost all of Stephanie Meyer's novels. Her favorite actor is Robert Pattinson, who portrays the vampire Edward in the movie adaptations of Meyer's works. From a young age, Safura had an interest in the world of high fashion and demonstrated her talent as a designer when preparing her first stage costumes, which she created together with her mother. Her favorite designers include Dolce & Gabbana, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Marc Jacobs.
