Early Life and Military Service

Starting in October 1953, Sergei Askerov worked in a collective farm in the Sterlitamak district. In November 1955, he was drafted into the Soviet Army, where he served until his demobilization in 1958.

Return to Sterlitamak and Work Experience

Upon his return home, Askerov worked as an electrician in Sterlitamakstroy Trust's Construction and Assembly Department No. 6. In January 1960, he joined the Sterlitamak Synthetic Rubber Plant.

At the plant, Askerov advanced from apparatus operator to senior apparatus operator in Department E-2. He continuously enhanced his skills, becoming a specialist of the highest rank and mastering all apparatus operator positions in his department.

Askerov consistently exceeded production targets, achieving 110-115% of his quotas. He ensured the consistent production of high-quality products. He completed his Socialist obligations for the Ninth Five-Year Plan (1971-1975) ahead of schedule, by July 1975. During this period, he increased his productivity by 90%.

Askerov's initiatives, such as "Best Control - Worker's Conscience," "From Raw Materials to Finished Products with Quality Marks," and "25 Stakhanovite Shifts in Honor of the 25th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union," gained widespread support within the plant. His suggestions during a review of economy and efficiency measures resulted in savings of 15,400 rubles in 1975 alone.

Training and Mentorship

Askerov willingly shared his extensive experience with younger employees. He trained 23 apparatus operators and assisted 9 young workers in advancing their qualifications.

Recognition and Honors

In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Askerov was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on March 23, 1976.

Later Career and Retirement

From 1976 until his retirement, Askerov worked as a shift engineer in the isoprene rubber department of the Sterlitamak Synthetic Rubber Plant.

Education and Awards

Askerov graduated from the Sterlitamak Chemical-Technological Technical College in 1969. He was honored with the Order of Lenin (1966 and 1976) and various medals.
