Max Isenegger (1890-1961) was a Swiss chess master and éтюde composer, known for establishing the Swiss éтюde school.

International Recognition

Isenegger held the title of International Master for practical chess and International Arbiter for chess composition (1959). Beyond his chess career, he worked as a laboratory technician in Basel, Switzerland.

Editorial Contributions

Isenegger played a significant role in the promotion of chess composition. He edited the éтюde section of the "Schweizerische Schachzeitung" for 15 years, along with chess columns in other publications.

Prolific Composer
