Samvel Tadevosyan: A Rising Star in Armenian Arts
Early Life and EducationSamvel Tadevosyan, an Armenian actor and theater director born on June 6, 1993, in Yerevan, has emerged as one of the most promising talents in the country. Upon graduating from Yerevan School No. 154, he enrolled in the theater and film faculty of the Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinema. However, his studies were cut short when he was expelled for absences related to his role in Mher Mkrtchyan's war melodrama "Line."
Film Career
Tadevosyan's film debut in "Line" earned him the National Cinema Academy of Armenia's award and a role in the Franco-Armenian-Belgian crime thriller "Bravo, Virtuoso" (2017). He went on to star in the Armenian-American musical "Songs of Solomon" as Komitas and the Russian drama "Chernobyl" as firefighter Tigran.
Theater Work
On stage, Tadevosyan has performed in productions such as "Mother," "Illusions," and "I Am Here." As a director, he has staged the ballet-psychodrama "Notes of a Suicide" and the physical theater performance "Mayreniq." His acclaimed one-man show "Egoist" was based on Mahmood Nazeri's play "One Room, Two Doors."
Personal Life
Tadevosyan keeps his personal life private. He claims to have a "big heart" and encourages those interested in him to "never lose hope." His favorite authors include Fyodor Dostoevsky and Jean-Paul Sartre, but he has a mixed opinion about William Shakespeare, praising "Hamlet" but disliking "Othello."
Current Projects
In February 2022, Tadevosyan starred in the adventure series "Janissary" on Russia's Channel One. He is also featured in the upcoming melodrama "USSR" and the Italian film "Fortress," set to be released in 2023.
