Sarah Kaplan: A Pioneer Politician

Born into a wealthy merchant family in Minsk, Sarah Kaplan was the sister of prominent political figure E. Kaplan. She actively participated in the Zionist youth movement "Tzeirei Zion" in Russia and completed her secondary education in her hometown.

Emigration and Settlement

In 1920, Kaplan immigrated to Eretz-Israel. After completing her studies at the Levinsky Teachers' College in Tel Aviv, she became a preschool educator in Nahalal, where she served for five years. Along with her husband, she co-founded the settlement of Kfar Yehoshu'a in 1927, which remained her home until her passing.

Political Activism and Involvement

Kaplan emerged as an influential figure in the Mapai party, serving as an active member and holding positions in its Central Committee and the Secretariat of the Settlement Movement. She was elected to the Knesset during its second and third convocations, representing the Mapai party.
