Early Life and Influences
Adil Oralbekovich Zhalelov, known professionally as Scriptonite, was born on June 3, 1990, in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan. As a child, he was drawn to the music of Russian rapper Decl, which inspired him to start writing his own tracks at the age of 11. However, his path to becoming a rap artist was not without challenges. Scriptonite had a strained relationship with his father, who discouraged his musical aspirations. Undeterred, he continued to pursue his passion, taking on the stage name Scriptonite, a reference to Superman's weakness, kryptonite.
Formation of Jillz and Rise to Fame
In 2009, Scriptonite co-founded the rap group Jillz with his friend Anuar Niman. Together with other members Azamat Alpysbaev, Sayan Dzhimibaev, Yuri Drobityko, and Aidos Jumalinov, they gained recognition within Kazakhstan for their unique blend of trap and hip-hop. In 2013, Scriptonite's breakout hit single "VBVVCTND" brought him wider attention.
Collaboration with Gazgolder and Debut Album
In 2014, Scriptonite signed with the Russian record label Gazgolder, founded by rapper Basta. This collaboration played a pivotal role in his career, providing him with a platform to showcase his talents. Scriptonite's debut studio album, "Dom s normalnymi yavleniyami" ("House with Normal Phenomena"), was released in November 2015. The album received critical acclaim for its diverse musical styles and introspective lyrics, and became a commercial success.
Continued Success and Evolution
After the release of his debut album, Scriptonite continued to release successful singles and albums, including "718 Jungle" with Jillzay in 2016 and "Prazdnik na ulice 36" ("Holiday on 36th Street") in 2017. His music has evolved over time, incorporating elements of pop, R&B, and electronic sounds.
Retirement from Rap and Zorski Label
In 2017, Scriptonite announced his intention to retire from rap music, citing his desire to explore other musical genres. However, he has not completely abandoned music and continues to perform live. In 2018, Jillzay evolved into the independent music label Zorski, with Scriptonite as its founder.
Personal Life
Scriptonite has been tight-lipped about his personal life but has revealed that he has a son from a former girlfriend. He has remained unmarried and has not publicly discussed his current relationship status.
