Background and Early Solo Career
David was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and first began releasing music under the alias emmecks12 in 2004. His early tracks were predominantly solo efforts, recorded at home with modest production quality.
Foundation of Brokencyde (2007-Present)
In 2007, David teamed up with Michael Shea to form the crunkcore band Brokencyde. Crunkcore, a fusion of crunk music, hip-hop, and extreme vocals, emerged as a pioneering genre under their influence.
The duo's debut release, "The Broken!", was self-distributed online due to label issues. In 2008, they expanded the band to include Phat J and Antz, collaborating on the EPs "BC13" and "BC13 Mix." Brokencyde's partnership with a label enabled them to release their first studio album in 2009, followed by a series of EPs and music videos.
Steez Click (2010-Present)
Concurrent with Brokencyde, David participated in the hip-hop collective Steez Click, which featured five members and released two mixtapes centered around themes of substance abuse.
Solo Career (2012-Present)
In 2012, David announced his first solo mixtape, "Bubble Baths & Blunt Wraps Vol. 1," which was released on DattPiff.com. A second volume followed in December, paving the way for his solo album.
Debut Solo Album (2013-Present)
From December 2012 to March 2013, David teased his upcoming album on Twitter. In April, he released the lead single "Take That" and revealed that his debut album, "Pink Skiez," would be released on his birthday, May 17th.
