Early Life and Musical OriginsBorn on May 14, 1964, in the city of Tambov, Sergei Boiko's passion for music ignited from a young age. In 1985, he began composing music and writing lyrics, a journey that would eventually lead to a remarkable professional career.
Professional Debut and Rising Star
Boiko's professional debut came in 1985 as a keyboardist and vocalist for Alexander Barykin's band "Karnaval." He showcased his talent at the XII World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow. In 1990, he graduated from the Tambov branch of the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts with a specialization in piano.
Composer and Collaborator
Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, Boiko worked as an arranger and composer for the popular music studio "Record." He also participated in the "Yurmala-89" competition and toured extensively throughout Russia and neighboring countries. From 1990 to 2011, he collaborated with numerous artists and bands as a composer and lyricist. His extensive catalog boasts over 100 compositions performed by both domestic and international singers.
Producer and Entrepreneur
Boiko's entrepreneurial spirit extended beyond songwriting. From 1994 to 1996, he worked as an independent producer at "Star Media." He later produced the "Streetball Challenge" campaign for Adidas in the CIS region. Boiko's ventures also included organizing city events and collaborating on marketing campaigns for various artists.
Return to Performance and Accolades
In June 2000, Boiko resumed his own concert performances while simultaneously producing other musicians. His production credits include the group "Bikini" in 2001-2002. In 2003, he won the Grand Prix at the "With a Song through Life-2" music competition. His song "Parallel to Love" earned him recognition at the "Song of the Year 2004" contest. Boiko has also composed songs for popular television shows and films.
Current Projects and Legacy
Since 2005, Boiko has been the driving force behind the project "New Russian Karaoke." He continues to produce music videos for emerging artists and serves as a consultant and co-producer for new musical ventures. In 2010, he joined the group "White Eagle" as a composer, keyboardist, and vocalist, further demonstrating his versatility. Boiko remains an active member of the Russian Authors' Society and the 1st Musical Publishing House.
