Early Life- Born on September 5 (18), 1887, in Moscow
- Father: Ivan Lobanov, an Old Believer from the Yaroslavl province
Artistic Influences and Education
- 1899: Receives a gift of oil paints, an easel, and a canvas from his father
- 1900: Enters the Aleksandrovskoe Commercial School, graduating in 1907
- 1906: Enters the studio of A. N. Mikhailovsky and F. I. Rerberg, where he meets Kazimir Malevich
- 1907: Joins the studio of Mikhailovsky and I. E. Mashkov; takes exams and enters the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture (MUZVZ)
Artistic Career
