Sergey Tishkov

Born on June 29, 1952, in Vesyoloye, Kazakhstan, the future pilot began his military service in 1974 after graduating from the Syzran Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots. He served as a commander of a flight squad for the Soviet Air Force in the Trans-Baikal Military District from 1976 to 1978.
Afghan War Service
In 1984, the pilot completed the Air Force Academy named after Yuri Gagarin. He went on to serve in the Afghan War from 1987 to 1988, flying combat missions in Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters. He held the position of deputy commander of the 355th Separate Helicopter Regiment based in Jalalabad.
Test Pilot Career
After completing the test pilot school in 1992, the pilot became a senior test pilot and deputy head of the State Aviation Research and Testing Center in Feodosia from 1994 to 2005. He test-flew over 30 types of aircraft, including the An-26, L-39, An-72, Il-76, and MiG-29.
Since 2012, he has worked at Motor Sich as Deputy Director of Flight Tests and Senior Test Pilot.
World Aviation Records
The pilot has set 22 world records on Mi-8MSB and Mi-8MTV helicopters since 2012, all of which have been registered with the FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale).
In August 2013, he set 10 records during the state tests of the Mi-8MSB helicopter, including an altitude record of 9,155 meters. In May 2018, he set 12 records at the Motor helipad in Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine.
