Early Life and CareerSimon Rex Cutright was born on July 20, 1974, in San Francisco, California, USA. He began his career in the modeling industry at the age of 18, quickly landing his first major job for fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger. After three successful years in New York and Europe, he joined MTV as a video jockey (VJ), becoming one of the hottest hosts.

Rise to Fame
In 1995, MTV kept Rex on the air for over a year after his solo video work in adult films such as "Brad Posey's Young" and "Hard & Solo." It was his controversial side job in the porn industry that made him famous and cultivated his subsequent popularity.

Acting Career
After leaving his position as a VJ on MTV, Rex began pursuing acting. In 1999, he joined the cast of the TV series "Jack & Jill," where he played the role of Michael "Mickey" Russo for two seasons. He portrayed the character of Eli, a sexy student, in the soap opera "Passions," and made guest appearances on iconic TV shows such as "Baywatch," "Widow's Kiss" (as Cliff Fenton), and "Summerland" (as Sean).
In 2002, "Warner Bros." released the pilot episode of the series "What I Like About You," which later aired on the "CW" network. Rex played the role of Jeff in the show. He also appeared on the American television network "Lifetime," portraying Eddie Lucas in the series "Monarch Cove" in 2006.
Rex's film appearances include the horror movie "Vampires" as the character of Penn, the parody comedy films "Scary Movie 3" and "Scary Movie 4" as George, and the comedy-action film "Hot Dog" as Peter Fowler. He played Derek in the comedy film "Pledge This!" alongside socialite Paris Hilton, where the couple had to film a sexual scene together.

Simon Rex is the son of Paul Cutright and Barbara Cutright. He briefly dated actress Jaime Pressly.
Rex's rap career began on the popular social networking website "MySpace" and, apparently, a label with the same name, where he created his stage name, "Dirt Nasty." He went on tour with his group "Dyslexic Speedreaders" and rappers Mickey Avalon and Andre Legacy.
Rex is also a co-owner of the New York City nightclub "The Plumm" along with Chris Noth, Samantha Morton, and Noel Ashman.
