A Blind Traveler
Sinto Bestard is a Spanish traveler who has completed four circumnavigations on his yacht, 'Snooty Fox'. While many people have sailed around the globe, there is one remarkable detail that sets Bestard apart from other adventurers - he has been blind in both eyes for the past 40 years.
Biography
Sinto Bestard was born in Majorca and lost his vision over four decades ago when he was in his early forties due to a medical error. Despite this setback, Sinto did not despair or lead a refined life as a disabled person - he decided to take charge of his own destiny. Yachting had always interested Bestard, but he never had enough time for it before. However, after losing his sight, he believed it was time to turn his dream into reality. Thus, Sinto developed ambitious plans to sail around the world on his yacht, 'Snooty Fox'. Interestingly, his yacht is meticulously organized - knowing where everything is becomes even more convenient for a blind person. Modern navigation devices greatly enhance the captain's life.
For several years now, Sinto has been sailing across the world's seas and oceans. He particularly loves Antarctica, despite the freezing temperatures. "It's the most heavenly place on earth," said the traveler in an interview. "Feeling the sun on my skin on a windless day is simply a blessing." He also recommends the Marquesas Islands, located 3000 kilometers southwest of the Galapagos Islands. According to Sinto, these islands are vast, tall, and painted in green and red colors. "I visited them when I was blind, and they are simply wonderful."
Sinto is known to have six adult children, who occasionally accompany their father on his voyages. To date, the blind captain has completed four circumnavigations, visiting all the oceans and continents. While he admits that life was undoubtedly more beautiful and easier when he had his sight, he continues to enjoy it. Moreover, he firmly believes that love is the most important thing, and it requires more than just vision.
