Early Life and EducationCyril Mary Kornbluth was born in New York City in 1923. He pursued his studies at the University of Chicago, where his passion for literature ignited.
Literary Beginnings
Kornbluth's writing journey began in 1940 when he sold his first short story to Frederick Pohl, a notable editor and future collaborator. Together, they crafted acclaimed novels such as "The Space Merchants" (1952) and "The Syndic" (1953), the latter winning the Prometheus Award in 1986.
Solo Accomplishments
Beyond his collaborative efforts, Kornbluth authored 56 solo short stories. His notable works include "The Theory of Rocketry," "Shark Ship," "The Coming of the Q," and "The Meeting," all of which were nominated for Hugo Awards.
