Early Life and Chess Career

Sophie Milliet, a French chess prodigy, was born in Castelnau-le-Lez and discovered the game at the tender age of four. Her exceptional talent became evident at junior level, and by the age of 17, she had surpassed an Elo rating of 2100.

National Championships and International Recognition

Milliet's breakthrough came in 2003 when she triumphed at the French Women's Championship, earning her the Women's Grandmaster (WGM) title. Her success continued in 2008, 2009, 2011, 2016, and 2017, making her a six-time national champion. In 2009, she also claimed the Women's Mediterranean Championship title in Beirut.

International Tournaments and Team Representation

Milliet has participated in numerous international tournaments, including the Swiss Open in Lenzerheide (2006), the Béthune Open (2008), and the Women's International Tournament in Baku (2007). She has represented France at the Chess Olympiads (2004 and 2006) and the European Team Chess Championships (2003, 2005, and 2007).

League Participation and Coaching

Milliet is an active league player and has competed in the French National Championship for three teams: Bischwiller, Clichy, and Montpellier. She also participated in the German Women's Bundesliga (2003-2005) and made appearances for the women's team "Pride and Prejudice" in the British 4NCL (2007/08). Milliet is also a skilled chess coach, sharing her knowledge with aspiring players.
