Early Life and CareerSuneeta Lee was born on March 9, 2003, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to a Hmong immigrant mother from Laos. She started gymnastics at the age of six and continued to train in her hometown.
Junior Career (2015-2017)
Lee debuted in the junior elite division at the 2016 US Classic. She became part of the junior national team in 2017 and made her international debut at the Gymnix International Junior Cup, winning team gold and a silver medal on uneven bars.
Senior Career (2018-2019)
In 2018, Lee joined the team for the Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships, where she won team gold, a silver medal in vault, and three bronze medals (uneven bars, beam, and floor exercise). She was forced to withdraw from the Pan American Junior Championships due to an ankle injury.
2019: Breakthrough Season
At the 2019 US Championships, Lee excelled in all four disciplines, placing second in the all-around and winning gold on uneven bars. She became a member of the national team.
At the World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany, Lee won team gold and placed second in the all-around and uneven bars finals.
2020: Olympic Success
At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Lee became an Olympic Champion in the individual all-around, a silver medalist in the team event, and a bronze medalist on uneven bars.
