Suzie Garrett: American Actress and Jazz Singer
Suzie Garrett was an American actress and jazz singer, best known for her role as Mrs. Betty Johnson in the television series "Punky Brewster" from 1984 to 1988. She was born in Detroit and spent her youth performing jazz in local clubs. Suzie also appeared in several theater productions, with her most memorable role being in the play "New Moon." However, her presence on the big screen was limited to a single appearance in the 1989 film "Stepmother," where Bette Davis played the lead role. Suzie was the older sister of actress Marla Gibbs, and together they co-founded the "Academy of Arts" in Los Angeles. In addition to her most famous role in "Punky Brewster," she also had minor roles in the series "227," "The Jeffersons," "Three's Company," and "The Twilight Zone."
