Sven Ottke - Professional German Boxer

Sven Ottke (born June 3, 1967 in Berlin-Spandau, Germany) is a professional German boxer who competed in the super middleweight division. He is known for being a technically skilled boxer, although he was not known for his knockout power. Ottke made his professional debut in March 1997 and had all of his fights in Germany.

Champion of the World

In October 1998, Ottke defeated IBF super middleweight champion Charles Brewer by split decision, becoming the world champion in the division. He successfully defended his title against Glen Johnson in November 1999. In September 2000, Ottke had a rematch with Charles Brewer, and once again came out on top with a split decision victory.

Unified Champion

In December 2001, Ottke faced Australian boxer Anthony Mundine. Ottke knocked out Mundine in the 10th round, solidifying his reign as the champion. In March 2003, Ottke faced WBA super middleweight champion Byron Mitchell in a unification bout. Ottke won by split decision, adding another title to his collection.

Retirement and Legacy

In December 2003, Ottke defeated former WBC super middleweight champion Robin Reid. He then went on to defeat Armand Krajnc in March 2004. With these victories, Ottke retired from professional boxing and became the second boxer in history, alongside Rocky Marciano, to retire as an undefeated champion.

Sven Ottke's technical skills and successful career have solidified his place in the history of German boxing.
