Birth and Early Life
Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone was born on July 6, 1946 in New York City, USA. His father, Frank Stallone, was of Italian descent, while his mother, Jacqueline "Jackie" Stallone (née Leibofish), was of French and Jewish heritage.

Due to speech impediments, young Sylvester was often teased by his peers, leading him to become an unruly bully who was expelled from over 10 schools. At age 15, after his parents' divorce, Stallone enrolled in a school for troubled teens, which helped to curb his rebellious behavior.

Acting and Film Career Beginnings
While attending the American College in Switzerland and the University of Miami, Stallone pursued drama studies. After graduating from Miami's acting program, he returned to New York and began performing in theater productions.

In 1970, Stallone made his unofficial film debut in a semi-pornographic film titled "The Party at Kitty and Stud's" (later retitled "Italian Stallion"). Despite his meager $200 earnings, this experience marked his entry into the film industry.

Stallone's first starring role came in the same year in the thriller "Rebellion" (also known as "No Place to Hide"), in which he played student rebel Jerry Savage. His breakthrough came in 1974 with the drama "The Lords of Flatbush," which featured Stallone as one of four tough Brooklyn youths.

Rocky and International Stardom
In 1976, Stallone wrote and starred in the sports drama "Rocky," which propelled him to international stardom. The heartwarming story of an underdog boxer striving for greatness became Stallone's writing debut and earned him Academy Award nominations for both Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay.

Following "Rocky," Stallone received critical acclaim for his performances in "F.I.S.T." (1978) and "Paradise Alley" (1978), which marked his directorial debut. He also starred in "Rocky II" (1979) and "Rocky III" (1982), which he directed and wrote as well.

The Rambo Franchise and Critical Acclaim
In 1982, Stallone solidified his iconic status with the release of "First Blood," the first installment in the legendary Rambo franchise. He played John Rambo, a skilled soldier who battles both external and psychological demons.

Despite Stallone's continued success in action films, critics often panned his performances. This did not deter Stallone, who continued to act, direct, and write, including the screenplay for "Rambo: First Blood Part II."

The Golden Raspberry Awards and Redemption
In 1985, Stallone received his first Golden Raspberry Award nomination. Over the years, he garnered a total of 20 nominations, including four "Worst Actor" awards and dubious honors such as "Worst Actor of the Decade" (1990) and "Worst Actor of the Century" (2000).
In 2016, the Golden Raspberry Awards acknowledged Stallone's comeback with a "Razzie Redeemer Award" for his resurgence from lowbrow films like "Rocky V" (1990) and "Driven" (2001) to acclaimed work such as "Creed" (2015) and "Escape Plan" (2013).
Personal Life
Stallone has been married three times. His first marriage to Sasha Czack lasted from 1974 to 1985 and produced two sons, Sage Moonblood Stallone (1976-2012) and Sergio (born 1979). His second marriage to Brigitte Nielsen lasted only two years, from 1985 to 1987.
Since 1997, Stallone has been married to Jennifer Flavin and has three daughters with her: Sophia (born 1996), Sistine (born 1998), and Scarlet (born 2002).
Legacy and Current Projects
Sylvester Stallone remains an iconic figure in Hollywood, known for his unforgettable performances in action films. His career spans over five decades and has included writing, directing, and producing credits.
Despite facing criticism and accolades, Stallone has continued to pursue his passion for filmmaking and is expected to release "Escape Plan: The Extractors" in 2023. He is also reportedly working on a collaboration with Jackie Chan.
