Biography of Tadeusz Kokshchis

Tadeusz Antonovich Kokshchis is an actor and People's Artist of Belarus. He was born in 1934 in the village of Kholkhlovo, Molodechno District, Minsk Region, Republic of Belarus. He was awarded the title of People's Artist of Belarus in 1984 and received the State Prize of Belarus in 1986.

Early Life and Career

Tadeusz Kokshchis began his creative career in 1958 after graduating from the Belarusian State Theatre and Art Institute, where he studied under Professor D.A. Orlov. He made a name for himself on the stage of the Kolas Theatre, portraying significant characters such as Truffaldino in "The Servant of Two Masters" by Carlo Goldoni, Blagoi in "Doctor Philosopher" by Branislav Nušić, the Beggar in "Symon the Musician" by Yakub Kolas, Rasplev in "The Wedding of Krechinsky" by Alexander Sukhovo-Kobylin, Gastritis and Solyanik in "Evening" and "Privates" by Alexander Dudarev, Yutka Kazubovsky in "The Tower" by Alexander Dudarev and Vladimir Neklyaev, Zheltukhin in "Kasatka" by Aleksey Tolstoy, Jester in "King Lear" by William Shakespeare, Kochkarev and Zamlyanik in "Marriage" and "The Government Inspector" by Nikolai Gogol, and Rainer in "Solo with a Chime" by Oleg Zagradnik.
