Education and Early Career:

Stanisław Wisłocki(1910-1995) was a renowned Polish violinist, musicologist, and music educator. He completed his studies at the Warsaw Conservatory in 1939 under the tutelage of Józef Jarzębski. Subsequently, he pursued further studies at the Brussels Conservatory from 1947 to 1948 with André Gertler.

Academic Career and Pedagogy:

Professor at the Warsaw School of Music:

In 1949, Wisłocki joined the Warsaw School of Music as a professor. From 1973 to 1975, he served as its rector. Concurrently, from 1966 to 1984, he taught at the Indiana University School of Music.

Renowned Performer:

Wisłocki gained recognition as a performer, particularly for his collaborations with pianist Władysław Szpilman and as part of the Warsaw Piano Quintet.

Wisłocki authored numerous scholarly works, including a four-volume textbook on violin playing, "Questions of Violin Playing" (1957-1970), and a book on Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin (1970).
