Biography of Taisia Povaliy
Taisia Nikolaevna Povaliy was born on December 10, 1965, in the village of Shamraivka, Kiev region. She completed school in Bila Tserkva and the Glier Kiev School. Her career as a pop singer began in 1985 in the vocal group of the Kiev Musical Hall. Her first success came in Almaty, at the Medeo Stadium, in the "Asia Dauses 1991" competition. She also participated in European festivals, for which she received awards for professionalism. In 1993, Taisia won the Grand Prix at the V.Ivasyuk Song Contest "Pisnya bude pomizh nas" in Chernivtsi and the "Slavianski Bazaar" in Vitebsk.
In 1995, Taisia released her first compilation album of her best songs, "Panno kokhannya," followed by "Poshlo-poekhalo" with hits such as "Ya vas lyublyu," "Budet tak," "Sladkiy grekh." Taisia gained popular acclaim and was named the "New Star of the Old Year" in 1994, and the "Best Star of the Year" in 1996. In 1995, on the tenth anniversary of her creative career, Taisia Nikolaevna became an Honored Artist of Ukraine, and in November 1997, she was awarded the title of People's Artist of Ukraine. In 1998, she received the "Zolotoy Zhar-ptitsy" (Golden Firebird) award. In 1999, she participated in the All-Ukrainian tour "My - deti tvoi, Ukraina."
In the late 1990s, Taisia gained many fans of different ages in Ukraine and Russia. She became actively involved in her creative work, appearing in music videos and giving up to 30 solo concerts per month. In 2000, she released a collection of music videos titled "100 Minutes with Taisia Povaliy." She also collaborated with Iosif Davidovich Kobzon on recording an album dedicated to the Independence of Ukraine, titled "Odna-dyna," which includes well-known songs such as "Moy Kyiv," "Kyivsky Vals," "Chervona ruta," and others. In late November 2001, she gave five concerts at the National Palace of Arts "Ukraine."
Taisia gained immense popularity in the CIS through her roles in musicals such as "Evenings on the Farm" and "Cinderella," where she performed songs like "Tri zimy" and "Ne spugnite zhenikha," showcasing her professionalism and talent. In March 2003, Taisia Povaliy released her first DVD album in Ukraine titled "Z rka narodzhena Ukrayinoyu." She frequently gives charitable concerts and participates in various initiatives, as she is truly a People's Artist, beloved by the public.
Taisia is married and has a 16-year-old son named Denis. She enjoys cooking, although she rarely has time for it. Taisia considers her mother as the guardian of her home hearth. She herself listens to her husband and producer, Igor Likhutu, in almost everything.
