Early Life and Education
Ģirts Ķesteris was born on February 11, 1932, in Riga, Latvia, to a family of civil servants. His father, Pēteris Āboliņš, served as an officer in the Latvian army, while his mother worked as an accountant.
After graduating from high school, Ķesteris earned a degree from the Riga Industrial Polytechnic Institute. He then pursued an acting career and enrolled in the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow, where he studied under the tutelage of Olga Pyzhova and Boris Bibikov. He completed his studies in 1955.
Career as an Actor
From 1955 until his retirement, Ķesteris was a prominent actor at the State Youth Theater of the Latvian SSR. His talent and charisma earned him a respected position within the Latvian theater community.
Literary Productions
In the 1980s, Ķesteris expanded his artistic endeavors into the realm of theatricalized literary programs. These productions featured the participation of his family members, including his wife, actress Vera Singayevskaya, and his sons, Gundars and Maris.

Ķesteris married actress Vera Singayevskaya. The couple welcomed two sons, Gungars and Maris, into the world.
Legacy
