Tamara Comolli: A Biography
Tamara Comolli, a renowned jewelry designer, established her brand 'Tamara Comolli' in 1992. She works with various materials, but sapphires remain her favorite gemstones, for which she is willing to travel to any corner of the world. Tamara's interest in precious gemstones began in her childhood. Her father was responsible for the operation of several casinos in different countries, exposing Tamara to the environment inhabited by the rich and famous. She circulated in the European social scene, where appearing in public without jewelry was considered bad taste. She witnessed a sea of precious stones and gradually developed her talent and defined the boundaries of her style. After some time, Comolli released a collection of jewelry using colored gemstones and gold. Recently, she expanded her collection to include rose gold, which perfectly complements natural skin tones. Each of Tamara's works is a work of art, an expression of her talent, and yet she never studied gemology or jewelry design in any educational institution. Year after year, Comolli strengthens her relationships with jewelry networks and continues to create new concepts through fruitful collaborations. Her first collection, 'Curriculum,' significantly influenced the further development of Comolli's talent. In 1992, she decided to open her jewelry company, 'Tamara Comolli,' which eventually expanded to include marketing, raw material procurement, and distribution departments. Today, the brand's successful development is evident through its thriving boutiques in the United States, Germany, Russia, and Kazakhstan. Tamara's creations reflect her individuality, her love for color, shape, and style. She draws inspiration from her travels, nature, and the world of fashion. She describes her collections as 'everyday luxury.' According to the designer, her clients are stylish, confident women of all ages from around the world. When designing her collections, Tamara tries to steer clear of creating matching sets. Instead, she prefers a more complex and creative process of combining elements to create a unique style. Comolli is particularly fond of sapphires in all colors, ranging from pale pink to dark green and vibrant orange. She also creates stylish, sensual, and even playful designs using pearls, utilizing large, beautiful pearls from the South Sea and Tahiti. However, Comolli emphasizes that it is not the weight of the precious gem that makes her creations luxurious, but the exceptional quality of the stones, craftsmanship, and level of design. Additionally, she believes it is crucial to learn to see how the piece feels on the wearer's skin. To celebrate the brand's 20th anniversary, she prepared a special gift for her customers – an 18-carat drop pendant. The pendant, shaped like a droplet, is available in yellow, white, and rose colors. In 2012, Tamara introduced the 'Gypsy' collection, inspired by the concept of gypsy chic. The collection featured the iconic 'Mikado Flamenco' bracelets, including topaz and iolite, as well as pendants made from unique sea jasper. Another collection, 'Breeze,' is characterized by soft oceanic hues, exuding a festive atmosphere and the fresh breeze of dreams. The collection incorporates kaholong (milky white opal), bright blue Persian turquoise, moonstones, and blue topaz. In her everyday life, Comolli prefers comfortable jeans, sandals, and a large colorful ring that adds a touch of luxury to her outfits. She loves homemade spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce. Tamara considers her greatest pearl to be her son, Timothy.
