Taraneh Alidoosti was born on January 12, 1984, in Tehran, Iran. Her father, Hamid Alidoosti, was a renowned professional footballer, and her mother, Nadereh Hakimelahi, was a sculptor and painter. The creative environment in her family played a significant role in shaping Alidoosti's artistic aspirations.

After completing high school, Alidoosti enrolled in acting classes under the tutelage of the esteemed Iranian master theatre director, Amin Tarokh. Notable actors such as Pejman Bazeghi and Shabnam Moghadami also trained under Tarokh's guidance.

Alidoosti made her cinematic debut in 2002 in the acclaimed drama "I'm Taraneh, 15."
