Hartikainen's Early Life and Hockey Career
Teemu Hartikainen was born in Kuopio, Finland, and began his hockey career with KalPa in the SM-Liiga. In 2008, he was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL.
Recognition and Success in Finland
In 2009, Hartikainen was awarded the Jarmo Wasama Trophy as the SM-Liiga's Rookie of the Year. He also represented Finland at the World Junior Championships in 2008 and 2009.
KHL Career with Salavat Yulaev
In 2013, Hartikainen signed a two-year contract with Salavat Yulaev in the KHL. He extended his contract twice, in 2015 and 2017.
