She began her acting career at the age of eleven, making her debut on the New York stage in the production of "The Me Nobody Knows." Arnold continued to act, returning with a scheming role as Zena in the daytime drama "Ryan's Hope" (ABC, 1987) and portraying the character of Charlene Valentine in the soap opera "All My Children" for two years. She also showcased her singing talents as part of the girl trio in the remake of the cult classic film "Little Shop of Horrors," alongside her "Martin" co-star, Tisha Campbell.
