Biography of Tina Karol
Early Life and EducationTina Karol, whose real name is Tatyana Grigoryevna Liberman, was born in January 1985 in the snow-covered city of Magadan, Russia. Her parents, engineers Grigory Samuilovich Liberman and Svetlana Andreevna Zhuravel, lived in the town of Orotukan at the time. When Tina was seven years old, her family moved to Ivano-Frankivsk, a city in western Ukraine. She grew up and spent her childhood and teenage years in this beautiful Ukrainian city. Tina attended a general education school and also studied music at a music school, where she learned to play the piano and received vocal training. It was during this time that Tina realized her passion for music and her desire to become a famous singer.
Music Career
Tina Karol gained national recognition after participating in the popular song contest "New Wave" in 2005. Her powerful and explosive performance earned her second place in the competition, and she was also awarded a special prize by Russian pop star Alla Pugacheva. This recognition launched Tina's music career, and she quickly released her debut music video for the song "Vyshye oblakov" (Above the Clouds). The album containing the hit songs from this video achieved gold status.
In 2006, Tina represented Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest, where she captivated millions of viewers with her energetic performance of the song "Show me your love." In January 2008, Tina secretly married her producer, Yevgeny Ogir. They had a son named Veniamin in the same year. Their marriage seemed unshakeable amidst the turbulent world of show business. However, tragedy struck when Yevgeny was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. Despite undergoing treatments and seeking medical help both domestically and abroad, Yevgeny passed away in April 2013. Tina, devastated by the loss, embarked on a nationwide tour titled "The Power of Love and Voice" in memory of her husband.
Tina continues to be a prominent figure in the Ukrainian music industry. She has served as a judge and mentor on popular TV shows such as "The Voice of Ukraine" and "The Voice Kids." Tina is also involved in philanthropic activities and is known for her patriotism, often declining opportunities to perform in Russia and instead supporting children affected by the conflict in Eastern Ukraine.
Current Endeavors
In recent years, Tina has continued to release new music and expand her career. She released the singles "Perichekaty" and "Sdatsya ty vsegda uspeyesh" in 2016, and her album "Intonatsii" featuring various hit songs was released in 2017. Tina has also ventured into other creative projects, such as publishing a photo book titled "Odnum kadrom" in collaboration with the Sanahunt Foundation, with proceeds going to support pediatric oncology centers.
