Tina Thompson is a professional basketball player in the WNBA. She was born on February 10, 1975 in Los Angeles, California. Growing up in Inglewood, she attended Morningside High School where her passion for basketball was ignited by her brother, T.J. She would often join him and his friends on the court, developing her skills in both basketball and volleyball.

In 1997, Tina Thompson enrolled at the University of Southern California where she played several successful games for the college team. That same year, she was drafted into the WNBA and became a leading rookie player. Known for her aggressive playing style, she quickly made a name for herself as a formidable forward.

Thompson began her professional career in the WNBA in 1997, playing for the Houston Comets. Over the course of three years, she consistently performed well and contributed to her team's success. In 1997, 1998, and 2004, Thompson was selected to the All-Star team. She was often compared to Lisa Leslie, another prominent player in the league.
In 2008, Thompson showcased her skills in a memorable match against the New York Liberty.
