Early Life and EducationBorn on February 7, 1995, in Salford, England, Tom Glynn-Carney's parents' involvement in semi-professional theater productions sparked his interest in acting. He attended Canon Slade School and Pendleton College of Performing Arts before studying at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, alma mater of Daniel Craig and Orlando Bloom.
Theater and Film Debut
Glynn-Carney began performing professionally in theater during his studies, portraying John Darling in "Peter Pan" and Macduff's son in "Macbeth." In 2017, he played Shane Corcoran in "The Ferryman" at London's Royal Court Theatre and later on Broadway. His screen debut came in 2013 with a role in the BBC medical drama "Casualty."
Breakthrough Roles
2017 proved to be a pivotal year for Glynn-Carney's career. He starred as Corporal Tony Armstrong in the miniseries "The Last Post" and as Peter Dawson in Christopher Nolan's war epic "Dunkirk," which received eight Oscar nominations and won three. In the biopic "Tolkien," he portrayed Christopher Wiseman, a friend of J.R.R. Tolkien (played by Nicholas Hoult).
Stellar Performances
In the 2019 film "The King," an adaptation of Shakespeare's historical plays, Glynn-Carney held his own among stars such as Timothée Chalamet, Robert Pattinson, and Dean-Charles Chapman. In 2021, he appeared in the short film "Salt Water Town" and the series "Domina," playing a young Octavian Augustus (later portrayed by Matthew McNulty).
Current Projects
Glynn-Carney's 2022 projects include the much-anticipated "House of the Dragon," a prequel to "Game of Thrones," in which he stars as Aegon II Targaryen. He also appears as Mike Sadler in Steven Knight's six-part war drama "SAS: Rogue Heroes."

Despite his celebrity status, Glynn-Carney remains private about his personal life. He occasionally shares glimpses of his travels on Instagram and is a member of the indie band Sleep Walking Animals.
