Darijo Srna

Early Career

Darijo Srna, a Croatian footballer with Bosnian roots, began his professional career at Cibalia. From 2001 to 2002, he played for Posušje before joining FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhia in the summer of 2002.

Ukrainian and Azerbaijani Success

Srna made his Ukrainian Premier League debut on July 17, 2002, in a match against Shakhtar Donetsk. He left Metalurh in the summer of 2004 due to various issues, departing as a free agent. He subsequently played for Neftchi Baku and Olimpiakos in Azerbaijan, as well as returning to Posušje in Bosnia.

Polish Triumph and Return to Croatia

In the summer of 2007, Srna moved to Zagłębie Lubin in Poland. He achieved the pinnacle of his club career by winning the Polish Championship in the 2006/07 season. Srna later joined NK Osijek, where he played until the end of his career.

National Team

Srna made his debut for the Croatian national team in 2002. He went on to become a key member of the team, earning over 130 caps and captaining the side in several major tournaments.
