Stolen Dog Reunited with Owner on Christmas Eve
In a heartwarming Christmas miracle, a stolen dog was reunited with its owner after two years. Trisha Joseph, now 45, received the best Christmas present of all when she was reunited with her beloved pet, Belle.
Belle's Disappearance
Belle, a six-year-old springer spaniel, was last seen in a shed in Defynnog, Mid Wales, in December 2016. Trisha never gave up hope of finding her. Along with her husband, Wyn Price, the professional gardener joined over 500 Facebook groups in search of information.
A Facebook Lead
On December 21, their persistence paid off. Supporters came across an advertisement for a dog for sale. Trisha contacted the 18-year-old seller, Jimmy, from Worcester, approximately 113 kilometers from her home.
Discovering the Truth
Jimmy was "devastated" when he learned that he had been given a stolen dog. "He had no idea that she was stolen and was terribly upset," Joseph said.
Reunion Day
Trisha, along with her sisters, Eleanor and Julie, traveled to Worcester to meet Jimmy and confirm Belle's identity. "It took one look to know that it was Belle," Joseph recalled. "We scanned her microchip and showed Jimmy all the paperwork. He had clearly cared for Belle, and she was very attached to him. She looked at him with such love that it melted my heart."
Mixed Emotions
"Jimmy was a lovely boy, and I felt so sorry to take Belle away from him," Joseph said. "But having her back home was just an indescribable feeling."
Belle's Recovery
Belle had been well-fed and cared for during the past six months, but her fate before that is unknown. "The world needs more people like Jimmy," Trisha stated. "My dog is doing so well now, as if she had never been stolen. We never stopped hoping we would find her, but we still can't quite believe she is really home."
