Tufi Duek, a Brazilian fashion designer, has become one of the most iconic denim manufacturers in Brazil. Additionally, the Brazilian brand is well-known for its more refined evening dresses. The products of Duek's two fashion labels, 'Forum' and 'Triton', are represented internationally under the name 'Tufi Duek'.
Early Life and Career
Tufi Duek was born on May 31, 1954, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He launched his own company in 1981. Collections were created under the guidance of creative director Eduardo Pombal and his design team, including Luciana Campos and Alex Cassimiro. When the second fashion line, 'Triton', designed for young and successful individuals, was released, Tufi decided not to limit himself to pop culture and founded the brand 'Forum'. This brand was dedicated to exploring true Italian identity, with a significant emphasis on sensuality.
Success and Expansion
The meticulously crafted collections of 'Forum' celebrated the femininity of Tufi's native country. Additionally, the 'Forum' brand helped secure a six-year contract with art director Giovanni Bianco. 'Forum' made its debut at Sao Paulo Fashion Week in 1996 and has since produced two collections per year. In addition to its main products, the 'Forum' brand also launched the 'Forum Tufi Duek' fragrance line and the 'Forum Eyewear' collection.
In 1998, Duek began expanding internationally and opened a salon in New York. Currently, the 'Tufi Duek' brand is represented in over 150 stores throughout the United States. In Brazil, the 'Forum' brand is sold in 17 stores in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Belo Horizonte, as well as in 37 franchised and 658 multi-brand stores.
