Vadim Vasylyovych Dyshkant
Early Life and EducationVadim Vasylyovych Dyshkant was born on January 8, 1960, in the Volyn Oblast of the Ukrainian SSR to parents who were educators. His paternal grandfather was a Ukrainian Orthodox deacon. After completing secondary school, Dyshkant enrolled in the Lutsk Cultural and Educational School, where he studied directing and graduated in 1979. He subsequently graduated from the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Film, and Television in 1985 with a degree in theater studies and theatrical criticism.
Career in Theatre and Journalism
Following his university studies, Dyshkant served as an assistant to the main director of the Ternopil Musical and Dramatic Theater. He later became deputy editor and then editor of the newspaper "Pan plus Pani." Additionally, he worked as a press attaché for the international theater festival "Mystetske Berezillya" in Kyiv.
In the early 2000s, Dyshkant published a series of interviews with Russian religious leaders on the portals "Mir Religiy" and NEWSru.com, in which they shared their perspectives on current events. These interviews were later compiled into the book "Life in Russia: What Religious Leaders Say about It."

Dyshkant has published in numerous publications, including "Den," "Kyivsky Telegraph," "Delovaya Stolitsa," "Delovaya Nedelya," "Holos Ukrainy," "Zerkalo Nedeli," "Stolichnye Novosti," "Vremya Novostey," "Novye Izvestiya," "NG-Religii," and "Teatralnaya Zhizn." He has also collaborated with the portals "Mir Religiy" and NEWSru.com.
