Biography of Valery Arshba
Education and Early CareerValery Arshba was born and raised in Abkhazia. He attended Tkuarchal's first high school from 1956 to 1967. After graduating, he pursued a degree in economics and engineering at Mordovia State University, which he completed in 1979.
Political Career
From 1979 to 1985, Arshba held several positions in the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU). He served as a lecturer and instructor in the organization department of the Sukhumi City Committee and as a lecturer and head of the lecture group of the Abkhazian Regional Committee.
In 1991, he became the head of the department of the newspaper "Republic of Abkhazia." In 1993, he was appointed plenipotentiary representative of the Republic of Abkhazia in the Republic of Adygea.
Vice President and Presidential Administration
In 1995, Arshba was elected Vice President of the Republic of Abkhazia. He served in this role until 2005, when he was appointed Head of the Administration of the President by President Sergey Bagapsh.
Current Positions
Arshba is currently the President of the Football Federation of Abkhazia. He also holds the title of acting member of the Russian Academy of Encyclopedia and is the Chairman of the State Commission on Citizenship.
