Biography of Vardan Oskanian
Vardan Oskanian is a politician and statesman who has served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. He was born on December 7, 1955, in Aleppo, Syria.
Education
Oskanian studied at the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute from 1973 to 1979. He then pursued further education in the United States, attending Tufts University from 1982 to 1984 and Harvard University from 1985 to 1987. He also completed an internship at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy from 1988 to 1991.
Career
From 1990 to 1992, Oskanian worked as an editor for the Armenian International Magazine. He then held various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, including Deputy Head of the Middle East Department, Head of the North America Division, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and eventually First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In 1998, Oskanian was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, a position he still holds to this day.
Personal Life
Vardan Oskanian is not a member of any political party. He is married and has two children.
