Biography of Vardan Vardanyan

Vardan Naapetovich Vardanyan (Armenian: Վարդան Նաապետի Վարդանյան) was born on November 29, 1955, in Yerevan, Armenia. He is a prominent political and state figure in Armenia, currently serving as the Minister of Urban Development since June 8, 2007.

Early Life and Education

Vardanyan attended the Armenian Agricultural Institute from 1976 to 1982, where he studied agriculture. Prior to his higher education, he worked as a locksmith at the Yerevan Relay Plant from 1973 to 1975 and as an electrician at the "Pohtekhnika" Plant of the Yerevan Volunteer Fire Society from 1976 to 1978. He then served as an economist-normative specialist at the "Sirius" Plant in Abovyan from 1979 to 1981.

Career

After completing his education, Vardanyan started his career as an instructor at the executive committee of the Kotayk District Council from 1981 to 1983. Following that, he served as the director of the Arinj Collective Farm in the Kotayk District from 1983 to 1991. Vardanyan then became the first deputy chairman of the Kotayk District Council from 1991 to 1995.

In 1996, he was appointed as the director of Water Supply Company No. 2 at the Yerevan Municipality. From 1998 to 2003, Vardanyan held the position of the first deputy general director at Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan. He later became an advisor to the governor of the Kotayk Region from 2003 to 2007.

In June 2007, Vardanyan was appointed as the Minister of Urban Development of Armenia, a position he has held to this day. As a minister, he plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of urban policies and strategies in Armenia.
