Vicky Krieps, a Luxembourgish actress, was born on October 4, 1983, in Luxembourg City. Her mother is German, while her father is a Luxembourger who worked as a manager at a film distribution company. Krieps' paternal grandfather, Robert Krieps, was a prominent politician and member of the Luxembourg Resistance.
Education and Acting Debut
Krieps initially attended Lycée de Garçons, a local high school, and later the Luxembourg Conservatory to explore her acting aspirations. However, it was during a voluntary social project at a primary school in a South African township near Knysna that she realized her true calling as an actress. Upon her return to Europe, she enrolled at the Zurich University of the Arts and gained additional experience at the German-language theater Schauspielhaus.
Film Career Beginnings
Krieps made her screen debut in 2008 with a small role in Aileen Byrne's short film, "La nuit passée." Another brief appearance followed in the 13-minute film "Cross on the Map," starring Sean Biggerstaff and Jean-François Wolff. In 2009, Krieps landed a role in Jean-Claude Schlim's "House of Boys," which depicted the lives of characters living in a Dutch brothel.
