Victor's career as a singer began unexpectedly at his high school graduation party. Superstar salsa singer Gilberto Santa Rosa was performing, and Victor's classmates convinced him to take the stage and sing. To everyone's surprise, Victor not only had a great voice, but he also perfectly captured the nuances of salsa music. Immediately after his performance, Victor was invited to join a jazz orchestra as an additional vocalist, catapulting him into stardom.

In 1993, Victor released his debut album, marking the beginning of his successful music career. By the 2000s, he was recognized as one of the most popular salsa performers. His albums continue to sell millions of copies and remain incredibly popular today. Three of his albums, "Inconfundible" (1999), "Instinto Y Deseo" (2001), and "Travesia" (2004), reached the top positions on music charts.

In May 2006, Victor released his tenth album, and six months earlier, in November 2005, he collaborated with his mentor Gilberto Santa Rosa on a concert album titled "Two Soneros, Una Historia." In 2008, Victor announced the release of his next album, "Soy" ("I am"), which would come out in June.

Aside from being a remarkable musical performer, Victor Manuel has also showcased his acting skills. He had a cameo role as the legendary salsa singer Ruben Blades in a biographical film.
