Early Life and Education
Viktor Mykyta was born on February 4, 1979, in the village of Ilnitsa, in the Zakarpattia region of Ukraine. In 1998, he graduated from the Zakarpattia Forestry Technical College with a degree in technology and economics. In 2002, he completed a law degree at the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Career in Law Enforcement and Public Service
Mykyta's career in public service began in 1999 when he worked for various enterprises, including the Ukrainian Postal Service. In 2003, he joined the law enforcement community, holding various positions. He worked as a lawyer for a private company and later became the deputy head of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) in the Zaporizhzhia region. He also served in the central apparatus of the SBU.
Governor of Zakarpattia Oblast
On December 10, 2021, Mykyta was appointed Governor of the Zakarpattia Oblast by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He held this position until September 8, 2024.
Deputy Head of Presidential Office
On September 8, 2024, following his resignation from the Zakarpattia Oblast, Mykyta was appointed Deputy Head of the Presidential Office by President Zelensky.
