Vladimir A. Badalyan: Armenian Parliamentarian

Vladimir A. Badalyan (born May 12, 1948, Spitak) is a renowned Armenian politician and former engineer. He has served as a member of the Armenian Parliament for several terms.

Early Life and Education

Vladimir Badalyan was born in Spitak, Armenia. He completed his education at the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, graduating in 1983 with a degree in civil engineering.

Industrial Career

Before entering politics, Badalyan worked in various engineering and management roles in the industrial sector. From 1966 to 1969, he held positions at the Spitak Sugar Factory. Subsequently, he progressed through the ranks at the "Vodokanal" water supply and sanitation department of Yerevan from 1969 to 1981. From 1981 to 1995, he held management positions at the Yerevan Plant of Chemical Reagents.

Political Career

Badalyan began his political career in the 1990s. From 1990 to 1995, he served as a deputy in the Supreme Council of the Armenian SSR. He was a member of the "Liberal-Democrats" parliamentary group.

In 1995, Badalyan was elected to the Armenian Parliament, where he served until 1999. He was a member of the Standing Committee on Financial, Budgetary, and Economic Issues and the "Republic" faction. From 1999 to 2003, he continued as a parliamentarian, joining the Standing Committee on External Relations and leading the "Agrarian-Industrial People's Union" parliamentary group.

Public Service

Outside of the Parliament, Badalyan has actively engaged in public service. He has served as Chairman of the "Union of Agro-Industrialists and Seed Production" since 2001 and Co-Chairman of the "Armenian Worker" public organization since 2002.

Return to the Parliament

Badalyan was re-elected to the Parliament in 2003 and served until 2007. He once again became a member of the Standing Committee on Financial, Budgetary, and Economic Issues. Following his re-election in 2007, he joined the Standing Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs. Badalyan is currently a member of the "Republican Party of Armenia" (RPA).
