Ukrainian Writer, Poet, and Essayist
Yuri Andrukhovych is a renowned Ukrainian prose writer, poet, and essayist. He is also the ideologue of the "Stanislav phenomenon."
Early Life and Education
Andrukhovych spent his early years working as an assistant turner and electrician at a repair and mechanical plant. In 1988, he graduated from the history faculty of V. Stefanyk Ivano-Frankivsk Pedagogical Institute (now known as Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University).
Teaching and Journalism Career
From 1988 to 1998, Andrukhovych worked as a teacher of history and law. In 2001, he became a senior lecturer at the West Ukrainian Economic and Law University, eventually rising to the position of associate professor in 2004.
Andrukhovych has also been active in journalism. From 1996 to 1998, he published the irregular journal "Pleroma." Since 2001, he has edited the literary magazine "Poïzd 76," and since 2002, the journal "Ї." In 2006, he became the editor of "Kyivska Rus'," and in 2008, he launched the first issues of "Snob" and "Zolota Kasta."
Literary Accomplishments
Andrukhovych's works have been translated into Polish and other languages. He is a member of the Association of Ukrainian Writers. He resides in Ivano-Frankivsk.
