Biographical Overview
Ukrainian conductor Mykola Diadura is renowned as a People's Artist both in Ukraine and Russia. He is the father of Ukrainian conductor Nazar Kozhukhar.
Education and Early Career
Diadura graduated from the Nikolai Lysenko Music School in Kyiv and the P.I. Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory, studying trumpet and opera-symphony conducting. He furthered his education with postgraduate studies at the Moscow Conservatory.
Conducting Positions
From 1964, Diadura served as a conductor for the State Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, becoming its principal conductor in 1967. In 1973, he became a conductor at the Kyiv Opera and Ballet Theater. From 1977 to 1988, he was the principal conductor of the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Musical Theater in Moscow.
Return to Ukraine
In 1989, Diadura returned to Ukraine to become the principal conductor of the National Opera of Ukraine. He simultaneously taught at the Gnesin Music and Pedagogical Institute in Moscow from 1978 to 1988 and has held a professorship at the Kyiv Conservatory since 1993.

Diadura's exceptional artistry has been recognized with numerous accolades:

- 1993: People's Artist of Ukraine- 2001: Order of Merit, 3rd Class
- 2006: Order of Merit, 2nd Class
