Ukrainian biathlete Volodymyr Semakov began his career as a member of the Russian national biathlon team, where he achieved significant success. As a Master of Sports of International Class, he became a five-time Russian champion. Representing the Kyiv Oblast and the Dynamo community, his early accomplishments laid the foundation for his future achievements.

The 2009-2010 season proved to be a turning point in Semakov's career. Despite being considered for the main team, he began the season in the Russian Cup. However, he quickly made an impact, winning a sprint with a clean shoot in Новосибирск and achieving a second-place finish in the pursuit. Consistent performances in Екатеринбург and Перм earned him a spot in the IBU Cup. By the season's end, he had climbed to 32nd place in the IBU Cup overall standings with 144 points.

International Debut

Following his promising performances, Semakov began the 2010-2011 season as a member of the Russian national team, making his World Cup debut. The following season brought him further success, as he emerged victorious in the marathon event at the Russian Championships in Uvat in 2012.
