Biography of Vladimir Treshchalov

Vladimir Treshchalov, an actor, was considered a former street child, dissident, and was falsely accused of having a criminal past. He himself contributed to this image by often making up stories about himself when drunk. But in reality, Treshchalov grew up in a well-off family and had never been in trouble with the law. At the age of 30, he became the hero of one of the first Soviet westerns, "The Elusive Avengers." His film auditions immediately became part of the movie. With his curly hair and moustache, he became a sex symbol of the 70s. However, after the loud success, the actor was excluded from the film industry for many years and made a living by making jewelry and driving a trolleybus. He reluctantly spoke about his role as Sidor Lyuty all those years. As it turned out, there were good reasons for this. "Vladimir had a conflict with two directors."

"Vladimir's childhood during the war"

Vladimir Treshchalov had a comfortable childhood. His father was the commander of the Kremlin regiment. There was always plenty of food in their refrigerator, and Vladimir would often bring food for his hungry friends. Near their house on First Meshchanskaya Street, German prisoners of war were building a house. Vladimir and his friends would often exchange bread for pocket knives with them. He finished school in China, where his father was sent to work after Stalin's death. Despite his father's military background, Vladimir did not become a military man. He found military school in Saratov boring and sent letters home begging to be excused from military service.

"Meeting Janet Tambievna and the start of his acting career"

Vladimir's acting career began after his military service, in the school-studio of the Moscow Art Theatre (MXAT). According to biographical sources, one day Vladimir was riding on tram number 25, and director Janet Tambievna noticed him at the final stop, Pushkinskaya Square. She, along with Zakhar Agranenko, was preparing for the film "Battle on the Way."

Vladimir's sister explained that this version was only partially true. Janet noticed Vladimir during one of the exams at MXAT. She was visiting all the theater schools, as they needed a young actor for one of the roles.

The handsome student quickly passed the film auditions. After Agranenko's death in October 1960, Vladimir Basov took over as the director and replaced half of the film crew. Vladimir Treshchalov remained in the film, but was asked to leave the school. In 1962, he had a double celebration: a film with his participation, "Dismissal on the Shore," was released, and he met Maya Kokhanova while being a student at GITIS.

"The Unreliable Avengers" and trolleybus driving

Shortly after the release of "The Unreliable Avengers," Treshchalov had a falling out with the director. As a result, the director killed off his character, Sidor Lyuty, in the first series. Later, Vladimir would say, "Sidor Lyuty... he suited me perfectly. It was my character. At that time, I was physically strong, not afraid of anyone or anything. Strong people, as a rule, always speak their mind..." Despite not voicing his own character, Treshchalov received 1173 rubles and 88 kopeks for his role in the film.

After his conflict with the director, Treshchalov had difficulties finding work in the film industry. He had to work at Lenfilm and Uzbekfilm, but the roles offered to him were minor. As he had a daughter to support, he decided to become a trolleybus driver.

Treshchalov was known for his kindness and was loved by many. He continued to act in films in the 1980s while working as a trolleybus driver. In 1993, five years before his death, his granddaughter Dasha was born, bringing him great joy.
