Early Life and Education
Vladislav Adolfovich Rusanov was born on June 12, 1966, in Donetsk, Ukraine. Following his graduation from high school in 1983, he enrolled in the Donetsk Polytechnic Institute, completing his studies in 1988 with a degree in the Technology and Engineering of Mineral Exploration.
Career in Academia
In August 1988, Rusanov commenced his employment at the Industrial Scientific Research Laboratory for Marine Drilling at the Donetsk Polytechnic Institute. His work involved conducting seismic surveys on the northern Black Sea shelf. Subsequently, in 1990, he joined the Department of Technology and Engineering of Geological Exploration, where he continues to work.
In 1997, Rusanov received his graduate degree from the Donetsk Polytechnic Institute. Two years later, he successfully defended his dissertation and attained the scientific degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences, specializing in the optimization of drilling technology for underwater operations. In 2003, he was conferred the academic rank of Associate Professor by the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science.
Literary Pursuits
Rusanov began writing short stories in 1993. His debut publication appeared in the Moscow-based magazine "Iskatel" in 2002. In 2005, his novel "Dawn Squall," the inaugural installment of his "Hot Winds of the North" trilogy, was released by Krylov Publishing in Saint Petersburg.
To date, Rusanov has published ten novels and approximately fifteen short stories in various periodical publications, including "Chelovek i Nauka," "Khimiya i Zhizn," "Porog," "Prosto Fantastika," and "Iskatel."
