Biography of Vladislav Ryashin

Vladislav Ryashin is a film and television producer, and the Founder and CEO of the Star Media Group of Companies. He is a member of the Association of Cinema and Television Producers, the Guild of Producers of Russia, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (EMMY), the Ukrainian Television Academy, the Association of Producers of Ukraine, and the Russian Television Academy.

Ryashin was born on July 12, 1970, in Zaporizhia, Ukraine. He graduated from Zaporizhia State University with a degree in English language and literature.

Early Career

He began his career in television in 1991 and worked successfully as a writer, producer, and host. In 1996, he became a producer for the Inter TV channel in Ukraine. From 2001 to 2006, he served as the Chairman of the Board of Inter TV, during which time the channel became the leading television channel in Ukraine and a clear leader in the industry. Under Ryashin's leadership, Inter TV established a strong foundation in news, analysis, and entertainment programming, and also began producing its own series and musicals that were broadcasted during the New Year season in Russia and Ukraine for the next 4-5 years.

Star Media Group

In January 2006, Ryashin left Inter TV and founded the Star Media Group in Moscow. Within a short period of time, the company gained a leading position in producing television content for major channels in Russia and the CIS countries. The group also established its own 3D animation and graphics studio called "Babich-Design," which creates unique historical documentaries and docudramas that compete with the best educational and scientific programs in the West.

By 2011, Star Media's library of rights exceeded 2500 hours of products in various genres. Ryashin has produced over 190 feature films, TV series, animated cycles, documentaries, TV programs, and musicals, with distribution rights acquired by channels in Eastern and Western Europe, China, Japan, the United States, Israel, the Middle East, and other countries and regions.

Ryashin has been nominated multiple times for Best Producer at the TEFI and Monte-Carlo Television Festival. He is a laureate of the Media Manager-2014 award. His producing works have been nominated for and received awards at prestigious international festivals and competitions such as AFI (USA), Monte-Carlo Television Festival (Monaco), WorldFest Houston Film Festival (USA), Seoul Int Drama Award (South Korea), International TV Festival Bar (Montenegro), TEFI (Russia), Golden Eagle (Russia), Kinoshock (Russia), Spirit of Fire (Russia), Golden Chest (Bulgaria), Listapad (Belarus), Together TV and Cinema Forum (Ukraine), Teletriumph Award (Ukraine), FSB Award (Russia), Yury Ozerov Military Film Festival (Russia), Golden Knight IFF (Russia), Reflection (Russia), and many others.
